Aims & Scope

Journal of Manufacturing and Intelligent Systems (JMIS) is an international, peer-reviewed scholarly journal dedicated to publishing high-quality original research and review articles that advance the integration of manufacturing engineering with intelligent and data-driven systems. The journal aims to serve as a multidisciplinary platform bridging classical manufacturing approaches with emerging digital, autonomous, and intelligent technologies.

The primary aim of JMIS is to disseminate innovative scientific and technological developments that contribute to the design, optimization, control, and sustainability of modern manufacturing systems. The journal particularly emphasizes research that combines engineering principles with artificial intelligence, machine learning, optimization, and digitalization, addressing both theoretical foundations and industrial applications.

JMIS welcomes contributions that provide novel insights, validated methodologies, and practical implications for next-generation manufacturing environments, including smart factories, cyber-physical production systems, and human-centric intelligent manufacturing.

Scope of the JMIS includes, but is not limited to:

  • Intelligent and smart manufacturing systems

  • Artificial intelligence and machine learning in manufacturing

  • Digital manufacturing, digital twins, and cyber-physical systems

  • Industry 4.0 and Industry 5.0 applications

  • Additive manufacturing and advanced production technologies

  • Optimization, modeling, and simulation of manufacturing processes

  • Robotics, automation, and autonomous production systems

  • Data-driven quality control and predictive maintenance

  • Intelligent materials processing and manufacturing of advanced materials
